What do you dislike about today's torch light design? Not bright? Too expensive and yet not lasting? What are the features that you need to add on if you want to buy a new torch light?
The one I have right now is designed by Lumiled as a souvenir gift. Using Luxeon LED. There are 2 things I don't like about it. First is it's size. Although it's made of stainless steel and looks macho but it's bulky and not portable. Second is it's battery. I uses camera battery, CR123, which is expensive and non-rechargeable. It cost RM10 (cheap Tesco) or RM15 (Energizer) and it doesn't last long.

Good Input. This is what we are targeting on. Our design will accommodate indoor and outdoor use. High brightness, portable, rugged, rechargeable 3 AA batteries. Do you need a water proof type? How much you are willing to pay if for such a torch light?

ReplyDeletei wish to have a torch light which is light in weight, small in size, folderable while the light intensity is adjustable which i can keep in my handbag while shopping. Besides, if the torch light can beep when i press a button while i am in dangerous / attacked, it will be great! Nowadays, a lot of stuff are served in multipurpose, i think torch light needs to have an innovation.
ReplyDeleteI have a torch light that is made of LED and the best part is that it does not need any batteries :). You can buy it from Intel Koop stores.
ReplyDeleteI hope the torch light can be design in a way that no batteries are required. I used to keep torchlight in my car as I sometimes need to use torchlight because of my job. But, most of the time, the torch light was found damaged by the battery water after the battery kept inside the torch light for a period of time. It is very inconvenience to remove the battery while not in use and when we need to use, look for the battery again. I hope someone could design a torchlight which do not need a battery.
ReplyDeletethe size must be small and easy to carry in the pocket. the brightness must be good and even. there should not be a halo in the light. the weight is light and battery can be charged faster and long lasting. hopefully rechargeable.the intensity must be automatically adjusted according to the surrounding brightness and thee is a manual control to adjust the torch as well. the bulb can be cheap and halogen and easy to buy.
ReplyDeleteif the torch light head is moveable or flexible in motion, it wil be great! The flexible design can cover the more viewing angle.
ReplyDeleteI won't pay a lot for torch lighht. Maybe RM10. In fact i never bought a torch light before. I use candle with aromatheraphy if there is no electricity. My hp has flash and i can use it out door. For party, lighting candles is better than torch light.
ReplyDeleteIt will depend on the occasion or circumstance that you are looking at. For those still not familiar with the Light Emitting Diode (LED) product, nowadays LED product is robust, better and outperforms conventional xenon and halogen lamp in term of brightness, light emitting efficiency and long lasting without worrying to change the light bulb at all. Do note that LED is applicable for area that need lights, for example camping, swimming ,outdoors, security guarding, automobile, diving, wearable personal illumination, emergency, and as a back-up light. Most importantly is small and reasonably light weight. I don’t think most people will not prefer to carry candle with lighter at all time. We focus on torch light feature that taking care of people needs for above mentioned situation. Hence we appreciate your precious input and also need more comments and feedback.
